Where is Citrus grown in Zimbabwe?

In the early 1900s, citrus production was done in Mazoe. Between 1960 and 1970 it expanded to Beit Bridge. Production in Chegutu then began from 1970 to the early 1980s. Today, citrus in Zimbabwe is produced in Mazowe, Beit Bridge, Chegutu and Mvurwi

Current production area is approx. 3000 ha. most of the exported produce comes from Beitbridge. New orchards are being established in Mashonaland and Midlands.

Zimbabwe exports citrus worldwide with an emphasis on: 

Corporate Social Responsibility

Dodhill have under taken visits with Trusts ( NIIEB) in South Africa to establish models to be started and emulated in Zimbabwe. A number of A2 farmers are in the process of establishing new orchards in Mashonalnd.

Feasibilty studies are also being carried out currently to establish joint venture orchards at Negomo, and In Chegutu.
